Philmont Family Dentistry Screens
and Treats Head Start Children
Philmont, NY – (January 19, 2006) Dr. Tareq Khalifeh,
DDS, the proprietor of Philmont Family Dentistry, provided free dental
screenings this week to children enrolled in Columbia Opportunities,
Inc.- Philmont and Taconic Hills Head Start classes.
The 3- and 4-year olds some of whom have never been examined by a dentist before, received free oral screenings. Where necessary, Dr. Khalifeh has also offered to provide follow-up therapeutic care.
“It is important that these children begin now to have meaningful dental care, and a sense of comfort with going to a dentist’s office,” said Dr Khalifeh.
Workers with Columbia Opportunities, Inc-Head Start (COI-Head Start) arrange these and other health screenings with area providers. They provided transportation for the children to the Philmont Family Dentistry in Philmont for the screenings on January 17th and 18th. COI – Head Start is a pre-school program for low-income 3- and 4-year old children who live in Columbia County. We are currently accepting applications. Call (518) 828-6312 for information.
